I bought this for my old ring light. It came with a little clip, but it was too awkward to work with. This is a much better option. It screwed right into the top screw and feels very secure. I clamped it to the side of my desk which is much safer than sticking it on my laptop. The top part can be adjusted to any angle due to the ball joint. You can also adjust the height to whatever you need.I wanted this to mount my camera horizontally, but first the gimbal isn't perfectly perpendicular when at a 90 degree angle, so my pictures came out slightly tilted.Secondly, the bar swivels with any weight.Probably fine to use if you're going to use it vertically.This is a space saver and super useful. I wasn’t sure if I really needed it, now that I have I will never part with it.The stand is a little heavier than I wanted. It is very sturdy and would be great for a camera. I purchased this by accident thinking that it would be for my cell phone. I will need to save it until I get a camera.Just what i needed for my home studio
