I had a number of cheap power strips fail in quick succession. One failure is one thing, but after three in one month I decided I’d never buy another cheap power strip. I was on a mission to find long-lived power strips where a glance would tell me whether it had power (i.e., it had an indicator light).While looking at too many power strips I ran across power strips with integrated clamps. Cool idea! But none of them struck me as high-quality/well-built/rugged/however-one-defines-it power strips. Then I ran across the SIIG Powerstrip Clamp. Problem solved! If the clamp breaks, throw out just the clamp. If the power strip fails (hopefully not), throw out just the power strip. (I ended up getting three APC power strips).I bought one to check the quality and test whether the new power strips would fit. Quality wise the only thing that looked the least bit under-finished is the clamp plate at the end of the screw. I now have 5 of these clamps and have never had a problem. Of note, as various cords plugged in to the power strip are moved putting stress on the clamp, the clamp may twist very slightly, but it does not wander off my desk. However, I do grab the camp whenever I plug or unplug a cord. Fit wise, I doubt there is a single row power strip out there this clamp will not hold. Also, the jaws that hold the power strip have excellent grip. Your power strip is not going anywhere.Last week I needed to put a USB hub back in service. At my old office I screwed it to the wall. I didn’t want to drill holes in the wall of the new office. Then it clicked. I can put a USB hub in a SIIG Powerstrip clamp.When I bought the most recent clamp, I saw somebody is making a knockoff of the SIIG clamp. I paid more for the SIIG because I know the quality.
