This is a solid desk for a great price. Very akin to Ikea-quality products, it feels like it will last a good long time.PROS:-compact, but with lots of space-sturdy; good build quality-fits my gaming rig, which includes a 23" LED monitor, large gaming computer, and Klipsch 2.1 speakersCONS:-top shelf just 'sits' (held in place by pegs), but is not fastened.-a little heavy for its size (particle board - that's why it's so inexpensive)OTHER THOUGHTS:I initially had my monitor on the top shelf thing, but ended up moving it down to the surface level, as it was strange having to look 'up' at the monitor. I built the whole desk and took the shelf and drawer out of the side to fit my computer (I have a HAF 912 case... look it up on Newegg.com, it's on the bigger end of the mid-size cases), and decided not to nail on the back of that area (better airflow). Fits nicely, and has enough space for the fans to draw/exhaust air.Build time: 1.5 hoursPrior building experience: Almost my entire apartment is IKEA... you do the math.Build difficulty: If you use your brain and take your time, it is easy. LAY OUT ALL THE PIECES FIRST! It will help
