I had that big honking desktop on - yes - my desk. And it took up alot of room. Now it's under the desk, safely off the floor. This thing rolls well on hardwood, is very sturdy, made of metal all the way around (except for wheels) and it's sturdy. If you need it to be a little bit longer, a piece of wood cut to fit would turn the trick and that's not all that hard to pull off. Very sturdy. FAIR price. GREAT buy. VERY easy to assemble.
